Columbia Development Authority (CDA) has an opening for a Project Coordinator

Job Description:

A Project Coordinator is a key part of the work of the Columbia Development Authority (CDA). To ensure that the projects are completed on time and within budget. The main responsibilities of a project coordinator are to create a realistic timeline, following up the Economic Development Coordinator to ensure everything is running smoothly, and tracking project progress in a variety of ways. 

Below are some of the responsibilities a project Coordinator is expected to assume in their position:  

  • To coordinate multiple projects with Executive Director and/or Economic Development Coordinator to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
  • Organize and plan project tasks and schedules.
  • Organize and manage CDA data files.

Manage tasks in accordance with Projects as assigned:

  • Communicate to Executive Director and Economic Development Coordinator with status of projects to include:
  • Assist with Applications, Permits and Titles.
  • Communicate about key project details to your direct report.
  • Stay aware of company goals and strategies to ensure projects align with CDA priorities.
  • Facilitate and encourage collaboration across CDA partnerships to ensure projects are completed successfully.
  • Optimize project deliverables, schedule, and work with CDA Economic Development Coordinator on budgeting specific projects or grants.
  • Create presentations and reports to communicate project status.
  • Coordinate the facilitation of Grant writing, proposals, deliverables, timelines, and narratives.
  • Prepare monthly project updates that clearly show progress.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

Below are the qualifications expected of a project coordinator:

  • 30 hour per week Monday through Friday
  • Demonstrable problem-solving project management experience and skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and two years of business English writing or 10 years’ experience in construction development is preferred, or related fields may be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, verbal, and written/grammar communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Adobe Suite, Advanced Business Calculations, various telecommunications equipment, remote meeting tools, mapping, and analysis reporting tools
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Experience with cloud-based hosting platforms
  • Ability to deliver services in a fast-paced economic development organization.
  • Strict confidentiality.

Will report to Director of Economic Development Coordination who is also the Assistant to the CDA Executive Director and under the Direction of the Executive Director of the Columbia Development Authority. Note: Executive Director and Economic Development Coordinator will be front contact with Projects, media, decision making and CDA board interactions.
